Club Italia Hosts Lucky’s Lens Documentary Screening Celebrating Community, Culture, and Canadian Storytelling

Niagara Falls, ON — Club Italia is proud to host a Special Members Screening of Lucky’s Lens, a Canadian documentary that celebrates the life, work, and cultural legacy of Fortunato “Lucky” Stracuzzi: a devoted community member whose lens preserved decades of Niagara Falls’ Italian-Canadian history. While created as a moment of pride for Club Italia members, this screening extends an open invitation to the broader community to experience Lucky’s Lens as a shared arts and culture event, highlighting the importance of Canadian documentary filmmaking in preserving local history, memory and lived experience.
About Lucky’s Lens:
Lucky’s Lens explores the remarkable life, creative work, and family history of Fortunato “Lucky” Stracuzzi, a Sicilian immigrant whose journey reflects the perseverance, creativity, and spirit that helped shape the Niagara Falls community. For nearly 40 years, Lucky volunteered his time and talents at Club Italia events, documenting celebrations, traditions, and everyday moments that collectively tell the story of a community. Through archival film, photographs, and interviews, the documentary offers a rare and intimate portrait of local history, positioning it within the broader landscape of Canadian documentary storytelling.
This screening brings the film home, offering an afternoon that celebrates Club Italia’s members and welcoming the public to experience the power of documentary cinema as a tool for cultural preservation.
